This is the perfect hotel for a visit to Bahrain. Expertly managed by vastly experienced Justin Kim, it’s five star in every regard boasting spacious rooms with every amenity including a fridge, freezer and ice maker, faultless housekeeping, and attentive yet unobtrusive staff. We must mention Jishnu, Igor, Andy and Deba in the restaurant, and Nancy, Abdulrahman, Ahmed and Mohsen at reception. They were all fantastic. Beautifully presented food and drink is available throughout the day in the restaurant, coffee shop and the restful mezzanine library overlooking the lobby. Don’t miss the afternoon tea! The reception staff were always friendly and more than willing to help, valet parking complimentary, swift and efficient. The rooftop pool and gym and Indigo restaurant all afford views of the Manama skyline. This is the perfect spot to relax in the centre of the city, but if you can manage to draw yourself away from this oasis, shopping malls, a fascinating souq and the seafront are a short walk or taxi ride. Can’t wait to return!

Whether it’s assisting with special requests or simply offering warm hospitality, their service is exceptional. Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel with a great location, spacious rooms, and outstanding service, this is definitely the place to stay. Highly recommended!

LOVED this hotel!! Really well considered, friendly, lovely large suite style rooms, great rooftop restaurant (exceptional food) and impeccable service. Many hotels get the small things wrong so really appreciated the attention to detail here. Fluffy towels, great pillows, very comfortable bed, good quality toiletries, sight recess in the shower floor to avoid flooding the bathroom floor and bedside master light switch to turn everything off. Breakfast is al a carte an aw Mini bar is well stocked (although pricey). Spa was wonderful good massage and facial. Everything you want from a boutique hotel that the big brands simply can't compete with. As a regular visitor to Bahrain I will 100% come again and recommend to friends. Hotels in Bahrain are expensive but for me this represented good value. Well done Merchant House!!

The hotel building itself has an interesting story and in a fantastic way combines traditional and new, works of art and elements of industrial design such as concrete. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed and very comfortable, and the cleanliness is of the highest standard. The food is very tasty and fresh, with well designed menu for various tastes. And last but not least, the hotel staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and always available, which is very important for me personally.
